This Week Was A 12.4/10 On Richter Scale

Straight into a bigtime miracle:
We were stopping by some friends at an apartment complex. We stopped to talk to a man getting into his car. He said no thanks basically. Plot twist, as we were biking to the next visit he pulled up to us in his car and says, "My wife would probably be down to talk with ya'll though. Here's our address." 


So went and stopped by and she was busy and said to come by the next day. Fast forward to yesterday. We stopped by with less clue of what would happen than lil Tom Hanks pulling up to Zultar or whatever it's called.


The guy from the car answered door (ay Pierre you wanna come out here). He let us in and helped us to the couch as he finished his game of COD #Ninja. He started grilling us with Q's like Iron Chef. The hype part is that all roads lead to Rome, and all truly penitent seekers' questions lead to Christ and the Restoration. You my fish filet. His wife came in and the COD game ended. After 45 minutes of gospel related Q and A, they were looking through the Book of Mormon and committed to reading it as well as praying to know the truth. 


Out of nowhere, the man said, "I don't usually let missionaries in, but I felt pushed to talk to you guys. Will you come back next Sunday at 4pm and show me something (the Plan of Salvation)?" 


We said yes and that family is moving in a great direction! 


Moroni 7: 29 And because he hath done this, my beloved brethren, have miracles ceased? Behold I say unto you, Nay; neither have angels ceased to minister unto the children of men


This witness didn't come without a trial of faith. Two days earlier, we had had a packed schedule. A few lessons canceled in the morning, then Elder Goodrich's bike broke so we walked. Then every appointment throughout the day canceled (even the members who had committed to come out with us that night were sick). But it was still great. I looked back at the end of the day and realized this great truth: Many of my circumstances were not great that day, but I still felt great JOY because my focus was on the SAVIOR. President Nelson has been preaching facts!

The rumors are true. I still buy green bananas, even after all that the prophet has taught. In other news... this is the last week of this part of my mission. I'll be back in the Couve on Friday!  The last few weeks people have asked, "Are you nervous, excited, scared, or what?" I'm really just feeling good! It'll be good to keep grinding, living and sharing the word of Christ. That doesn't change! Paul Was The First Masterbuilder!!

1 Corinthians 3:10 "According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon." Be the special! We taught a super cool, extremely spiritual lesson Friday to one of our friends! She is a really nice lady with some adult kids and a husband. She really was seeking peace. We had felt like we should send a reminder text about the lesson to her an hour and a half before the lesson (and thought nothing of it). When we arrived she said she was at work until just a few minutes ago. She was planning to ask to reschedule because she had a lot to get done, but then she got the reminder text from us. She showed it to her boss and said she thought our text was a sign that she needed that lesson. She left work and met with us. We showed her how she can find peace on her own in the scriptures. "Surrounded By Russians"

This was a solid week. I have learned a lot about many different parts of the gospel. My district just got to the in-person MTC today (Wednesday), and it is so sweet!! The people here are so fun, and it is so amazing to work with them in person! I have a very cool story to share.  On my 6 am flight :) from Portland to Salt Lake City today, I was seated on an aisle seat. There was another elder a couple of rows away, so we started talking about where we were going. When I said Dnipro, the man across the aisle from me said with a heavy accent, "You're going to Ukraine!" He proceeded to tell me he was born in Ukraine and grew up in Russia. He was fluent in both Russian and Ukrainian. His family was in the two rows near him. It was so cute to hear his kids say things I could actually understand in Russian.
