I AM THAT SECOND MOUSE

Image
I got a call from President late Friday night. Pause. Getting a call from President is like getting a call from Jason Bourne and President Nelson at the same time. He says things similar to "You look tired. Get some rest." The scary thing is he is out in Tempe. The cool thing is how much he cares about us all the way from Tempe. He called to say I was leaving Sunday night on an emergency transfer. I was going to replace my longtime companion Elder Giles in Casa Grande 2nd ward (as Elder Giles was needed to help Pahoran in the homecountry of Tempe). I had to say bye to everyone in all 3 wards and all our friends we were teaching in basically just Saturday. The work has been entrusted in Elder Cooley's hands. Now I'm here in Casa Grande. I have one of GOATs of college basketball (missionary work) as my companion... Elder Sanders!! Coming in at a whopping 6 ft 0in. Here are some of his notable stats: 9/10 Faith in Christ 8/10 Working with Members 2/10 at having weaknesse...

From The Shadows I Come

'Twas a grindtime miracle filled week. Check out this cool snippet from the book I may yet pen, titled: The One Who Won (Without Dry Bones or Shy Guy) Friday we were biking on our way to teach a less active member, and the name of someone we had previously taught popped into my head. Kathy had moved out of a group home a few months prior that was on the way to our next appointment. We followed the prompting and stopped by. She was walking out of the house as we pulled up. She said she had just moved back in that day, and that we could come by tomorrow. The next day when we went by and taught Noah, her 28 year old son who was visiting. Yesterday... Kathy, Noah, and 3 others from her house came to church and loved it! It was so hype to see the ward swarm them like zerglings or Moses Locusts. We need to build more pylons though.  Super cool other story. Our Ward Mission put on a Pi day at one of the local parks. While we there, our Elders Quorum President in another ward texted us and...

This Here's A Tale For All The Eldas

It had been a while since we have been able to have a lesson with our friend Madeline, but we met with her this week! It was of more hype than hitting a 360 no scope off a plane in chapter 10 of season 2 with no builds left for the win. She is 18, and was referred to us by some baller members. She has now finished the Book of Mormon and tries to walk the temple grounds every day. However, her mother is not supportive of her being baptized, so the struggle is real! Please prayers up for her and her mother. #alma6:6 Hey Ya'll! I need some fresh content for the mean streets of Chandler. Please send me the reference to the scripture you would share if you had 30 seconds to get someone intrigued and willing to feel the spirit. Kishkumen or Teancum Elder Sheppert 1-2: Veterans Oasis 3: Coach Gruhler taught us how to break the zone... find the gap

A Drug Bust, ER Run, And I Met "The Church"

The council in heaven was probably very similar to the council of the fellowship of the ring. After the plan was made, all the big time players were probably taking assignments. "We need someone to crash into a car 6 months into their mission." At this moment, Elder Cooley probably stood up and said, "I will take it!" It all started with a beautiful Saturday morning. Elder Cooley and I made a deal with some other Elders that we would talk to literally everyone on Saturday. So we grinded all day, teaching and finding and grinding. After our last lesson, we were biking back to our house. It was about 9:30, and we were 2 blocks away from the house. My companion and I were zoned out in deep thought, and BAMMM!!! Elder Cooley crashed into the back of a parked white mini-van. I looked at his face, which was covered in blood, and knew we were going to have to go to the ER. We biked to the house, and called the mission nurse.  While on the phone, getting approval to head to...
