From The Shadows I Come
'Twas a grindtime miracle filled week. Check out this cool snippet from the book I may yet pen, titled:
The One Who Won (Without Dry Bones or Shy Guy)
Friday we were biking on our way to teach a less active member, and the name of someone we had previously taught popped into my head. Kathy had moved out of a group home a few months prior that was on the way to our next appointment. We followed the prompting and stopped by. She was walking out of the house as we pulled up. She said she had just moved back in that day, and that we could come by tomorrow. The next day when we went by and taught Noah, her 28 year old son who was visiting. Yesterday... Kathy, Noah, and 3 others from her house came to church and loved it! It was so hype to see the ward swarm them like zerglings or Moses Locusts. We need to build more pylons though.
Super cool other story. Our Ward Mission put on a Pi day at one of the local parks. While we there, our Elders Quorum President in another ward texted us and asked if we could help with some service for 5 minutes. We felt that we needed to help, so we started biking. On the way there, a car with its hazard lights was in the middle of the road. Naturally, we stopped to see if the driver needed help. He said he was good, but then was like, "I am trying to learn more about God though!" Pause. What? OK bet, we back up a few steps and commence helping him come closer to Christ. Let's just say... we are teaching Isaac again tonight! God running this work for sure!
Can I interest you in guaranteed lasting joy, real rest, and the best future possible? I'm not trying to scam you on some cosmic college fund or galactic gaming PC. The gospel of Jesus Christ makes people happy. It's simple. Just do it.
Sometimes you get overly focused on giving firm hand shakes with people. While your guard is down they may get you with the Whooshi Pinky finger hold. At this point, you calmly disengage and accept that there are always bigger fish in the game of firm handshakes.
