Dear Today

What's good yall! Been a great week! Let me give you some of the lights:


++Highlight- I forgot to say last week our friend Tracy got baptized so that was hype!
++Awkwardlight- a guy had a little fluffy dog on a leash and it was crouched into the low desert-kissed grass on all fours. To try to start a convo, I said, "Is your dog lying down or standing?"
With a straight face, and a few calories flying out of his mustache, he said, "It's pooping."
My comp died laughing and I tried to proceed through the convo but it didn't get too far.
++Greenlight- The Spirit's pedal is most definitely to the metal out here. There have been quite a few people who are willing to meet up.
++Nightlight- We were out in the middle of the "Hurricane" and our boy Eliuth (19) was chilling. We got to talking and he was so down for all the gospel blessings. We shared a scripture (the BoM got a bit wet) and he committed to a lesson, to read, and coming to church. He came through on all 3 and is mad progressing. That helps me sleep good at night.
++Spotlight- I was reading in Jacob. Check this on Sherem in Jacob 7:4 "And he was learned, that he had a perfect knowledge of the language of the people..."
Faith in Christ beats a perfect knowledge of anything else. Prove me wrong.

The rumors are true. I still buy green bananas, even after all that the prophet has taught. In other news... this is the last week of this part of my mission. I'll be back in the Couve on Friday!  The last few weeks people have asked, "Are you nervous, excited, scared, or what?" I'm really just feeling good! It'll be good to keep grinding, living and sharing the word of Christ. That doesn't change! Paul Was The First Masterbuilder!!

1 Corinthians 3:10 "According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon." Be the special! We taught a super cool, extremely spiritual lesson Friday to one of our friends! She is a really nice lady with some adult kids and a husband. She really was seeking peace. We had felt like we should send a reminder text about the lesson to her an hour and a half before the lesson (and thought nothing of it). When we arrived she said she was at work until just a few minutes ago. She was planning to ask to reschedule because she had a lot to get done, but then she got the reminder text from us. She showed it to her boss and said she thought our text was a sign that she needed that lesson. She left work and met with us. We showed her how she can find peace on her own in the scriptures. "Surrounded By Russians"

This was a solid week. I have learned a lot about many different parts of the gospel. My district just got to the in-person MTC today (Wednesday), and it is so sweet!! The people here are so fun, and it is so amazing to work with them in person! I have a very cool story to share.  On my 6 am flight :) from Portland to Salt Lake City today, I was seated on an aisle seat. There was another elder a couple of rows away, so we started talking about where we were going. When I said Dnipro, the man across the aisle from me said with a heavy accent, "You're going to Ukraine!" He proceeded to tell me he was born in Ukraine and grew up in Russia. He was fluent in both Russian and Ukrainian. His family was in the two rows near him. It was so cute to hear his kids say things I could actually understand in Russian.
