The Opposite Of Tennessee Whiskey

This week was the opposite of Tennesse Whiskey. It was not smooth, and it was good for the work! The Spirit beats liquid courage 9 out of every 8 times. I'm not drunk;)


All but one of our friends canceled their lessons this last week, so we had some great opportunities to find the elect. While trying to avoid rote prayer, one in the field is likely to hear me pray for something like, "Please lead us to the elect, and help us to recognize them." As we know from D+C 29:7, the Lord teaches, "Mine elect hear my voice and harden not their hearts."


That's what we are on the search for ladyies and gents, and it's so fantastic! 


In other newz, the new Preach My Gospel dropped and it is AMAZING. And yes... the Skyview High School recommendation must have been received, because there is a new Christlike Attribute in chap 6.

We met this guy in the park, taught him, and then he asked us if we could give him a ride (it was about 110° outside). We told him we couldn't but we could call around. We called a brother in our ward. He said, "Is he taking the lessons. I've got a job I have to go to in a few minutes, I only give rides to friends that are taking the lessons." Our boy was very eager to set a return appointment with us after that. #daytriptookit2ten


There is only one that is good, don't let anyone tell you different. Read about Him.

The rumors are true. I still buy green bananas, even after all that the prophet has taught. In other news... this is the last week of this part of my mission. I'll be back in the Couve on Friday!  The last few weeks people have asked, "Are you nervous, excited, scared, or what?" I'm really just feeling good! Paul Was The First Masterbuilder!!

1 Corinthians 3:10 "According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon." Be the special! We taught a super cool, extremely spiritual lesson Friday to one of our friends! She is a really nice lady with some adult kids and a husband. She really was seeking peace. We had felt like we should send a reminder text about the lesson to her an hour and a half before the lesson (and thought nothing of it). When we arrived she said she was at work until just a few minutes ago. She was planning to ask to reschedule because she had a lot to get done, but then she got the reminder text from us. She showed it to her boss and said she thought our text was a sign that she needed that lesson. She left work and met with us. We showed her how she can find peace on her own in the scriptures. "Surrounded By Russians"

This was a solid week. I have learned a lot about many different parts of the gospel. My district just got to the in-person MTC today (Wednesday), and it is so sweet!! The people here are so fun, and it is so amazing to work with them in person! I have a very cool story to share.  On my 6 am flight :) from Portland to Salt Lake City today, I was seated on an aisle seat. There was another elder a couple of rows away, so we started talking about where we were going. When I said Dnipro, the man across the aisle from me said with a heavy accent, "You're going to Ukraine!" He proceeded to tell me he was born in Ukraine and grew up in Russia. He was fluent in both Russian and Ukrainian. His family was in the two rows near him. It was so cute to hear his kids say things I could actually understand in Russian.
