On transfer weeks, preparation day is on Tuesday here!!!


Another transfer will begin tomorrow in the glorious ATM (Arizona Tempe Mission). House Grandview (ward) is losing the courageous Elder Marshall (he must have been very valiant in the pre-existence) to the Mesa zone. In his place, I will have another counterpart. I am yet to learn who the Batman to my Robin will be. 


In the meantime, let's recap the week!


The focus for me this week was on being a finisher. Finishing the transfer strong. Finishing every street contact with them giving me a definite yes or no on whether we could teach them. It was fun. We worked very hard and saw a lot of good things.


One experience that was cool was actually while I was on an exchange in the South Mountain YSA area. We were going down a list of phone numbers that they hadn't been in contact with recently. We probably went through 20 numbers where no one answered or they said they weren't interested. Then we got to the name and number of Allen. I had the sure feeling that this was going to be a big contact. I told my companion and we decided to pray before we called. He picked up and (insert onomatopoeia) we were off to the races. To skip the monotonous minutiae, we taught a full-on lesson, and he committed to reading the scriptures daily! The spirit leads us, even when we are just calling people.


Today I realized I have seen Brian Stokes Mitchell live. Don't be jealous.

The rumors are true. I still buy green bananas, even after all that the prophet has taught. In other news... this is the last week of this part of my mission. I'll be back in the Couve on Friday!  The last few weeks people have asked, "Are you nervous, excited, scared, or what?" I'm really just feeling good! It'll be good to keep grinding, living and sharing the word of Christ. That doesn't change! Paul Was The First Masterbuilder!!

1 Corinthians 3:10 "According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon." Be the special! We taught a super cool, extremely spiritual lesson Friday to one of our friends! She is a really nice lady with some adult kids and a husband. She really was seeking peace. We had felt like we should send a reminder text about the lesson to her an hour and a half before the lesson (and thought nothing of it). When we arrived she said she was at work until just a few minutes ago. She was planning to ask to reschedule because she had a lot to get done, but then she got the reminder text from us. She showed it to her boss and said she thought our text was a sign that she needed that lesson. She left work and met with us. We showed her how she can find peace on her own in the scriptures. "Surrounded By Russians"

This was a solid week. I have learned a lot about many different parts of the gospel. My district just got to the in-person MTC today (Wednesday), and it is so sweet!! The people here are so fun, and it is so amazing to work with them in person! I have a very cool story to share.  On my 6 am flight :) from Portland to Salt Lake City today, I was seated on an aisle seat. There was another elder a couple of rows away, so we started talking about where we were going. When I said Dnipro, the man across the aisle from me said with a heavy accent, "You're going to Ukraine!" He proceeded to tell me he was born in Ukraine and grew up in Russia. He was fluent in both Russian and Ukrainian. His family was in the two rows near him. It was so cute to hear his kids say things I could actually understand in Russian.
