"The Long And Windy Road"

"Twas a good week. I know y'all want bars, and they're coming. Just 1.5 weeks from transfers, so 2 weeks till some агон bars. In the meantime, for all you fans of the arts, enjoy this masterfully crafted haiku:

The bridge, The yogurt
Pedals pushed thrice as hard
Wind won't slow the work

Let me take you back to last Friday. A church tour scheduled. A friend hoping to learn. An Elder defying the elements.

Elder Stone and I leave our house at 10:10. The church tour begins at 10:45. The church is usually a 22 minute bike ride. Usually...

We open the garage door. Nothing seems to be out of the ordinary. We bike out of the neighborhood and into the open road. In front of us stands a giant bridge, the one we traverse every day to get to our area). The moment we hit the open road, we are attacked in the most vicious manner by an invisible force. I pedal with all my might. The bike moves at 1/3 of the normal speed. My companion and I valiantly battle up the bridge, refusing to be pushed and pinned into the railing, the only thing between us and a 40ft drop (which would've made another sweet story). To our dismay, as we reach the peak, we look out across our area and see the long, windy Butterfield road that inevitably leads to church. The church is still a few miles away and the wind is only picking up.
I am shaking in my baby seal leather boots.

We continue down Butterfield, wind battering our faces. The sounds on that road can only be compared to that of a war zone. The popping of my oil-lacking gears, the wind, replicating the sound of a helicopter, and the machine gun fire emulated by my companion's flapping wind breaker. As I repeatedly checked my watch, I saw our time slowly slip away. Pedal. I dropped the upper half of my body to the handle bars, using my sleek, aerodynamic body to slice through the current adversary.

The quads burned, as momentum waned. A gibbous hunchback I became.

Eventually we arrived at the church. Only 10 minutes late, we gave a very good church tour. We had 2 members with us as well, and they helped a lot.

In other news, the work is well in the Butterfield Ward. I love reading the scriptures. Please read them. It is so easy, so sometimes we forget how important it is. I can tell when we talk to our friends, if they have read the scriptures. It makes such a difference in your life and countenance.

Shout out to Annie and Chris with Birthdays!

The truth is only what you get away with yeah!
