"I'LL SHOW YOU WHERE THE LOBSTERS WINTER!!"

Ladies and Gents, 


     It has been another day in the life. We act like it is no big deal to walk out with a nametag on. I LITERALLY get to be a representative of Jesus Christ. How cool is that? (That was a rhetorical question. It's pretty insanely cool).


     I love learning Russian. Over the past couple weeks, I have picked up a couple of Russian sayings. My favorite, translated to English is, "I'LL SHOW YOU WHERE THE LOBSTERS WINTER!!" This basically means "That was the last straw" or "I'm gonna' beat you up." Pretty cool, huh. I don't intend to use this phrase during my mission, but if someone says this to me, I will know to run as a fearful brother would when he destroys his sibling's 2000 piece LEGO Millenium Falcon. 


     In other news, I keep running into Finns. The Terminator has left for Sweden, but 2 new Finns have moved in. Not just to my Branch, or district, but to my room. They are extremely cool and spiritual people. They tell me Reindeer Meat is quite delicious. I just wanted to give you that heads up this holiday season. Santa Claus' celebrated team of flying friends might just end up on your plate if you visit that region of the world. 


     Also, Elder Gary Stevenson gave a fantastic devotional Thanksgiving morning. It is quite a privilege to be so close to and hear from a prophet and apostle of the Lord. 


     This week went by very fast, so my apologies for a lack of stories. I promise the fans something good next week. Until then, I'm Elder Sheppert, and this has been another email home to friends and family.

The rumors are true. I still buy green bananas, even after all that the prophet has taught. In other news... this is the last week of this part of my mission. I'll be back in the Couve on Friday!  The last few weeks people have asked, "Are you nervous, excited, scared, or what?" I'm really just feeling good! It'll be good to keep grinding, living and sharing the word of Christ. That doesn't change! Paul Was The First Masterbuilder!!

1 Corinthians 3:10 "According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon." Be the special! We taught a super cool, extremely spiritual lesson Friday to one of our friends! She is a really nice lady with some adult kids and a husband. She really was seeking peace. We had felt like we should send a reminder text about the lesson to her an hour and a half before the lesson (and thought nothing of it). When we arrived she said she was at work until just a few minutes ago. She was planning to ask to reschedule because she had a lot to get done, but then she got the reminder text from us. She showed it to her boss and said she thought our text was a sign that she needed that lesson. She left work and met with us. We showed her how she can find peace on her own in the scriptures. "Surrounded By Russians"

This was a solid week. I have learned a lot about many different parts of the gospel. My district just got to the in-person MTC today (Wednesday), and it is so sweet!! The people here are so fun, and it is so amazing to work with them in person! I have a very cool story to share.  On my 6 am flight :) from Portland to Salt Lake City today, I was seated on an aisle seat. There was another elder a couple of rows away, so we started talking about where we were going. When I said Dnipro, the man across the aisle from me said with a heavy accent, "You're going to Ukraine!" He proceeded to tell me he was born in Ukraine and grew up in Russia. He was fluent in both Russian and Ukrainian. His family was in the two rows near him. It was so cute to hear his kids say things I could actually understand in Russian.
