Is not so easy
From 6:30 wake time
to 10 hours of facetime (we use zoom)
Cram Russian and the gospel
We can't watch Nosgúls
Yet something about this work brings true meaning
I sit at computers all day and keep thinking
The work I'm preparing to do out abroad
Will bring souls, great souls, just like ours, unto God
Time spent is so worth it, the spirit's so strong
T'is truly a pleasure, to pass the word along


        It has been a great week! I have learned so much Russian so fast. I just try to study the flashcards, and pay attention in class. They taught us a lot about the gift of tongues, and what we need to do to access it. I have been trying to work very hard so that way I can have that gift, and I have definitely caught glimpses of it. Sometimes, I will be studying after class, and I will see a word come up that I saw once like 2 days ago, and there should be no way I should be able to know the meaning of it, but then I do! It has been really awesome to see the Lord bless me to learn these early parts of the language pretty fast. I have also felt the spirit so strong all week. 


        Yesterday, my district watched a devotional given by Jeffrey R. Holland, and I was blown away. There have been only a handful of times when I have felt the spirit so strong. The MTC is sick! The other day we were practicing teaching friends (investigators) the first lesson. The friend was just another Sister from our district. Towards the end of the lesson, I wanted to have a little fun, so I started talking about working towards goals and then asked this Sister if she was willing to set a date for baptism. Everyone in the zoom room was thrown off, but she stayed in character and we set her date. Basically, I haven't been in the MTC for 2 weeks but I've already got someone (who is already baptized) on date. Talk to me nice!


        Anyways, it's been a good week. The Book of Mormon is true. It brings one closer to Christ. Read It!

The rumors are true. I still buy green bananas, even after all that the prophet has taught. In other news... this is the last week of this part of my mission. I'll be back in the Couve on Friday!  The last few weeks people have asked, "Are you nervous, excited, scared, or what?" I'm really just feeling good! It'll be good to keep grinding, living and sharing the word of Christ. That doesn't change! Paul Was The First Masterbuilder!!

1 Corinthians 3:10 "According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon." Be the special! We taught a super cool, extremely spiritual lesson Friday to one of our friends! She is a really nice lady with some adult kids and a husband. She really was seeking peace. We had felt like we should send a reminder text about the lesson to her an hour and a half before the lesson (and thought nothing of it). When we arrived she said she was at work until just a few minutes ago. She was planning to ask to reschedule because she had a lot to get done, but then she got the reminder text from us. She showed it to her boss and said she thought our text was a sign that she needed that lesson. She left work and met with us. We showed her how she can find peace on her own in the scriptures. "Surrounded By Russians"

This was a solid week. I have learned a lot about many different parts of the gospel. My district just got to the in-person MTC today (Wednesday), and it is so sweet!! The people here are so fun, and it is so amazing to work with them in person! I have a very cool story to share.  On my 6 am flight :) from Portland to Salt Lake City today, I was seated on an aisle seat. There was another elder a couple of rows away, so we started talking about where we were going. When I said Dnipro, the man across the aisle from me said with a heavy accent, "You're going to Ukraine!" He proceeded to tell me he was born in Ukraine and grew up in Russia. He was fluent in both Russian and Ukrainian. His family was in the two rows near him. It was so cute to hear his kids say things I could actually understand in Russian.
